Tinkle nappies are designed to fit a wide range of sizes and shapes, and are suitable for every child.

Tinkle ECO nappies have also been designed to be even more absorbent than many other non-eco nappies, so they will capture and hold urine quickly and effectively.

Getting the correct fit to make sure that nothing can escape you child’s nappy:

  1. Size
Check the weight of your child and choose the nappy size that best suits your child’s weight. A nappy that is too tight or too loose around the waist or legs is more likely to leak.
  2. Waistband
The back waistband area of Tinkle nappies has more elastic and the tabs are stronger so that they can be more securely fastened to the front of the nappy. This means that the back of the nappy is better guarded against leaks, and the tabs will hold tightly when the nappy is put under stress. Briefly stretch the elasticated back of the nappy out before putting it on your child. It is important to check that the nappies are fitted snugly around the waist and legs to ensure they are ‘watertight’… your nappy needs to sit in the right place around the child’s waist to also get a snug fit around their legs.
  3. Tabs
Once the nappy is in the correct position on your child, “pinch” the tabs firmly on to the nappy by pressing with fingers and thumb from both inside the waistband and on the outside of the tab. This will lock the tabs in place – if they are just pressed down from the outside they could come undone or move, which will not hold the nappy effectively around the waist. Pinching the tabs in place will secure the nappy at the waist and guard against leaks at both the waist and leg areas.
  4. Leak guards
If the leg leak guards are tucked in when the nappy is put on, urine will have path to the outside world and the nappy could leak. So make sure that the leg leak guards are pulled free from the nappy so that they can do their job to hold liquid in.
If you have made sure that everything is fitting correctly but you still feel like your child needs more absorbency, you may wish to try a larger size nappy.

The absorbency of each nappy increases as the size increases, and the weight range for each size is generally a good guideline as to the best fit and absorbency for your child. However if a larger nappy can be securely fastened around your child’s waist and legs then there is no problem moving up a nappy size before your child is in the recommended weight range.
